Document elements
Dataflow documents include several elements where you can enter or view data. Note that your view of a document depends on the document's template and the access permissions set for different users, so you may not see all of the document's fields.
Document elements may be grouped so that elements can be hidden from view when they are not in use. Click the expand and collapse buttons to show or hide the group contents.
Next to the names of some elements you will see a small gray square which will turn black if you put the mouse over it: see the image below for an example.
Clicking the square will select the element's contents which you can then copy and paste into other applications and documents. See Copy and paste.
The data field types are as follows:
- Data-entry fields are used to enter text, numbers and dates. Inputs can be typed, selected from drop-down lists or produced automatically by calculated expressions. For more information, see Data entry fields.
- Simple and multilevel tables are available for periodic data. For more information, see Tables and line items.
- Image fields are used to store maps, charts, diagrams and other visuals. For more information, see Images.
- Some fields can be accompanied by comments (see Comments).
- You can add attachments of various kinds (see Attachments).
Important: Documents do not support numerical values with more than 15 digits. Values entered with more than 15 digits will lose the additional digits.
