Copy items from another hierarchy
The Copy From tool is used to copy items between hierarchies:
- Select the consolidation node into which you want to copy items.
- Right-click on it and select Copy From.
- In the Copy From window, select the items you want to copy.
- Since all nodes should have different names, select a new name option:
- Add sequence number automatically adds a number at the end of the name, which increases every time you copy that item; for example, Africa(1) or North Sea(3).
- Add prefix allows you to specify a prefix for the new name. For example, if you copy a project named Africa and type New_ here, the copied project will be named New_Africa.
- Add suffix allows you to specify a suffix for the new name. For example, if you copy a project named Africa and type 2008 here, the copied project will be named Africa2008.
- You also have an option to overwrite any comments and attachments that the destination node has, if the copied node has the same name.
- If you are copying projects linked to other documents, you can save information about broken links in a log file by checking the corresponding box.
- Click OK to copy the items.
Note: When copying is in progress, both the source and the destination hierarchies are locked. The Unlock button will be displayed in the Manage Hierarchy window (to open it, select <Manage Hierarchies...> from the drop-down list in the Hierarchy Explorer).
