Regimes

A Regime is a FINANCIALS document that defines fiscal terms in effect in a particular country, and is used to model projects according to those terms. Regime documents are created with the help of the Regime Designer, and stored together with FINANCIALS input templates. Input templates define the look and feel of FINANCIALS projects and Contract Terms documents. To create and calculate projects, you must link a Regime document to a hierarchy. Regimes are managed in the Documents Explorer.

Access to individual Regimes can be restricted. To define access for users and groups, go to the Documents Explorer, right-click on a Regime and select Permissions (for more information, see Item Permissions).

For information about how Regimes perform calculations, see Calculation sequence.

The Regime document opens in the Document Window and contains four tabs:

  • The General tab contains the basic settings of the Regime and associated document templates. For more information, see The General tab.
  • The Designer tab contains the regime visualization tool. For more information, see Regime Designer.
  • The Contract Terms tab contains the list of all modules and variables which have their source set to <Contract Terms>. For more information, see The Contract Terms tab.
  • The Capital tab specifies depreciation methods and how they are applied. It is not used for financial calculations.
