Resource Requirements Pane
Use this pane to keep track of Resources of any kind required for the execution of a job. Resources consumed or utilized by a job appear in a table, where the Required column indicating the number of units or amount is the only editable field. (See Tables for further table commands.)
The Unit column will show a fixed quantity if the resource is of the durable type - it is assumed that durable resources are required for the whole duration of the job. It the resource is consumable, you can define it as a fixed amount or as a rate by clicking on the cell and selecting between [unit] and [unit] per day.
To add a resource to this table, it must already be stored in your Resources Catalog. Use the Catalog button to create, edit or delete resources. Other available commands are:
- Edit: Edit the currently selected resource. Use this option to modify a resource's unit type, unit, costs and description at the project level without modifying its definition in the Resources Catalog. Changes will be saved to the Catalog only by clicking on
- Update Catalog.
- Add: Add an already existing resource from the catalog. If all resources in the catalog are already present in the table, this button will be disabled.
- Remove: Delete the currently selected resource from the list.
Resource usage after simulating the model can be viewed in the Results Window, and exported to an Excel Report (see Excel Reports).
Resource tracking is only available for job kinds that have a definable duration: Compression Installation, Facility Expansion (and expansions triggered by a Excess Policy), Facility Maintenance, Geological and Geophysical Studies, Infrastructure, Other Spending, Well Decline Manipulation, Pipeline Laying, Facility Construction and Well Production Rerouting. For drilling and completion jobs, this option is not in the jobs themselves (which are actually macro-jobs) but in the Well Drilling Info Tab and the Well Completion Info Tab of each well.
Special Operational Resource Requirements panes are also available in the Maintenance Program Tab of production and injection wells, and in the facility General Tab (Facility) of each facility extant in the project. You can use them to define resource usage associated to the lifecycle of wells and facilities. Also, since Infrastructure jobs can be used to model facilities or other installations that have an operational lifecycle, operational resource requirements can be defined for them as well.
