The Data Security Filter Assignment Page

After creating your security attribute filters, you can assign them to users or roles using this page.

Assign Privileges to Roles

To associate permissions with the roles you created, follow these steps:

  1. Select the context that you want to alter security for using the Context drop-down menu.
  2. Security is context-sensitive. Permissions assigned in one context will not automatically carry over into other contexts.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Use the Groups and Users tabs to display groups or users. All of the Groups or Users (depending on the tab you are using) will be listed in the first column of the table.
  5. With the exception of the first column and the header row, all of the values in the table can be modified. Double-click on a cell to change its value. When you do, a drop-down menu will appear which will display all of the security filters you have created. in the fields and choose the security filter from the drop-down menu provided.
  6. Click image to expand or minimize. 

    The “-“ (dash) implies a passive Deny state. If a user is granted rights in another role, then this Deny state is overruled. However, if a user has a role set to "Deny", this will overrule any other setting.
  7. Click the Save button to save your work.
