Portfolio 4.5 Release Notes

New Features

Select Individual Projects from Dataflow

When configuring a Dataflow data source, users can now select individual projects rather than being limited to all children of a single start node. Multiple project selection sets are supported, each defined by a start node with a subset of its descendant projects chosen via a tree-based checkbox UI. Projects can be bulk selected or deselected at any level of the hierarchy. Only the selected projects are imported; if a project appears in more than one selection set, it is imported once.

Faster Dashboard Loading with Large Data Sets

Dashboard performance has been improved when working with large data sets. Widgets now load progressively in the background, allowing users to interact with the rest of the dashboard while remaining widgets continue to load. Drill-down table data is cached after the first load, reducing reload time when navigating between dashboards.

Export/Import Portfolio Inputs as JSON

The building blocks of a portfolio — including input data, rules, constraints, dashboards, and data source mappings — can now be exported to a portable JSON file and imported into another portfolio. This makes it easier to migrate configurations between environments without rebuilding from scratch. The JSON format is structured for readability and is compatible with AI tools and automation workflows.

Export and Import Scenario Data

Scenario data can now be exported and imported between portfolios. The export includes metric constraints, selections, and any rules that have been overridden at the scenario level.

Enhancements

  • Dataflow imports are now significantly faster for portfolios with large numbers of metrics, documents, and time periods, due to the addition of data compression during the import process.
