Reporting

The Reporting function is used to generate and view reports based on the documents stored in Dataflow.

Reports are based on report templates which are created and managed in the Dataflow Configuration workspace (see Reports). The templates provided in your PlanningSpace deployment will have have been created by local Planning Space administrators according to the requirements of your business.

Templates can be either for a Document Report or a Multi-Dataset Document Report.

A reporting job can be run on a version hierarchy either using (one or more) Document Reports, or Multi-Dataset Reports.

Important: the Report generator in Version 20 uses parallel processing of report jobs to increase performance. However, this means that the content of report output documents will reflect the sequence in which parallel jobs become completed, and not the ordering of Dataflow documents in the version hierarchy tree. This change is likely to affect the expected behavior of report templates that have been migrated from Version 16.5.
