Import or Export color and appearance settings

Color and appearance settings can also be exported and re-imported into the same or other Portfolio files using the Export and Import buttons in the Color Manager Utility.

The Export drop-down menu contains the following options:

1. Export All Colors will export color options for all categories.
2. Export Category Colors will only export color options for the currently selected category.
3. Export Appearance Settings will export the settings from your chart's visualization properties (see Customize chart appearance). If the active page contains multiple visualizations, the settings from the selected visualization (i.e. the one with the darker blue header bar) will be exported.
4. Open appearance settings file location will open the file in which your appearance settings will be stored.

The Import drop-down menu contains the following options:

1. Import Colors will import a color file containing color options for either a single category or for all categories. The colors being imported should automatically be applied to their respective categories.
2. Import Appearance Settings will import an appearance settings file and will apply the settings to all visualizations on the page currently active in the Visualizations panel. These settings can only be applied to the same chart types as the ones contained in the source file.

You can also apply appearance settings from the most recently exported appearance settings file by clicking on Apply Visualization Appearance Settings on the Tools ribbon.
