Create change records in bulk
You can create change records in bulk in child nodes of the selected node. In the example below, we will distribute the unexplained crude oil balance.
- Open the node which contains the value you want to distribute. Click the cell which contains that value; in this example it is the Unexplained Balance cell.
- Click the Bulk Change button on the ribbon. The Create changes in bulk dialog will be displayed.
- The Product and Reserves Category fields are filled-in automatically based on the selected cell.
- The Value to apply field contains the value to be distributed; by default it is unexplained balance. You can edit this value if required; for example, if the unexplained balance can be attributed to several change reasons, you will need to run this tool for each of the reasons separately.
- In the Change reason field, select the reason against which the change record is being made. In this example, the unexplained balance is due to production.
- In the Pro-rate against field, select the value which will be used to pro-rate the number in the Value to apply field. This ensures that change records are created proportionally. In this example, the unexplained balance is selected so nodes with the largest unexplained balance will receive the largest share of changes.
- In the Comments field, provide an explanation for the changes.
- Click OK to start the process. The progress of the operation will be shown in the task notification area. Note that to see the updated values, you need to re-open the selected node.
