Templates
The following table describes the buttons in the Templates tab on the ribbon.

Discards changes made to the template. | |
Contains the list of available templates. To edit a template, select it from the list. | |

Opens the Node Type Template Assignment dialog. Templates can be set as default templates for the Dataflow Node Types (see Node Type template assignment). | |
Opens the History window where you can view the history of changes made to the template, including who made the change and when (see History of changes). | |
Inserts the copied item into the template. | |
Cuts the selected item and stores it in the clipboard. | |
Makes a copy of the selected item and stores it in the clipboard. | |
Adds a new element to the template (see Content elements). | |
Deletes the selected item. | |
Imports a template from a local XML file. Note: Import and export can only be performed on databases with the same set of variables as the imported file does not contain any information about variables. |

Moves the selected item up. | |

Refreshes the preview panel after items have been edited. | |
Opens the Expression Editor where you can specify a formula to be calculated (see Expression Editor). | |

Opens the window where you can assign permissions: allow or forbid users and user groups to perform operations on the selected node. | |
Defaults: Opens a dialog where you can specify default settings for variable data in documents created from the template.
The Currency and Real/Nominal template defaults can be over-ridden by default settings for individual variables. For version 16.5 Update 1 and later: the Unit System and Unit Scale settings can also be specified as defaults for individual variables. |

Periodicity | Shows the periodicity of the template. You can use a standard periodicity (Annually, Semi-Annual, Quarterly, Monthly) or a custom combination of periodicities (Mixed). If you select the Mixed option, enter the number of years to be displayed in each periodicity in the Monthly, Quarterly and Semi-Annually fields; the remaining years will be shown on the annual basis. The order of periodicities cannot be changed: it always starts with Monthly and ends with Annually. |
Opens a window where you can associate workflows with the selected document template (see Associate workflows with document templates). | |
Open the Economics Configuration window. | |
Opens a window where you can select which variable categories will be available in document scenarios. |
