Load data from PalantirDATAFLOW

To import data from DATAFLOW:

  1. In the Load Data workspace, click on the arrow under the Add button The Add button on the ribbon and select the PalantirDATAFLOW option. A new data source will be added and the Dataflow loading screen will be displayed.
  2. In the Start Year and Duration fields, specify the time frame for which the data will be loaded; if your documents span a longer period, the data outside of this time frame will be discarded.
  3. To load data, you need to connect to DATAFLOW on a PlanningSpace server. Click the down arrow in the Connect To field to select a server and PlanningSpace tenant (the automatic options will be for the server used by your CX Suite applications). To specify a connection manually, select the Manage Connections option from this list.
  4. Enter your PlanningSpace login credentials (see Dataflow loading screen for details).
  5. Importing from DATAFLOW requires a mapping template; templates determine which DATAFLOW variables correspond to destination variables and settings. Create or select it in the Mapping Template section. For information about how to create a template, see DATAFLOW mapping template.
  6. Note: The currently used template is part of the PLAN document; if you send this document to a colleague, for example, the template will be sent with it. You can also save templates as files on your computer (referred to as local templates).

  7. Once the connection has been established, all fields will become active and the Selected Documents box will show the DATAFLOW hierarchy. Select the appropriate hierarchy version in the Version field above the hierarchy.
  8. Select the documents you want to load by checking boxes next to their names.
  9. In the Revision section, choose the revision of the documents you want to load. You can load the latest revision or select a specific revision by date or tag.
  10. In the Currency section, select the name and revision of the currency deck that will be used to load data. If you select the Use document’s currency deck option, you do not need to select a revision as it will be loaded from the DATAFLOW document automatically.
  11. In the Scenario Mapping section, select document scenarios to be imported. You can select a tag or enter the scenario's name. If you are using tags, you can view inactive tags by checking the Include Inactive Tags box.
  12. In the Destination section, select or enter names of the price and project scenarios which PLAN will use for charts and risk measures.
  13. To check whether your data source has errors, click on the Validate button The Validate button on the ribbon. If errors or warnings are found, a message will be displayed and the data source icon will change to Errors icon or Warnings icon respectively.
  14. Click on the Load button The Load button on the ribbon. The progress will be shown in a pop-up dialog. You can cancel loading at any time by clicking on the Cancel button in the dialog.
  15. If loading finished successfully, the Analyze Portfolio workspace will be opened. If there were warnings or errors, click on the View Log button The View Log button on the ribbon to check the log file.
