Calculate Result Sets on the server
There are two ways to calculate Result Sets: on your computer and on the server. To determine which option to use, consult your system administrator.
If you were instructed to run calculation on the server, select the Calculate on server option in the Result Set. If you see an error message ("The result set calculation service is not running on the server"), contact your system administrator. However, even if the service is not running, you can still schedule Result Set calculations: they will be queued and performed when the service is started.
If the Result Set is calculated on the server, the notification icon will appear in the bottom right of the application window. If the service is running, the dot on the icon will be green ; if it is not running, the dot will be red .
To see the status of the calculation, move the mouse pointer over the notification icon, and a status message will appear.
You can also see the calculation history. Double-click on the notification icon, and the Notification window will be displayed. In this window, you can see the progress and the outcome of calculations (see the table below). All columns can be resized by dragging the dividers between them. Result Sets can be filtered by status, username and start time. If you do not see some of the latest scheduled Result Sets, click on the Refresh button.

You can cancel a calculation in progress by clicking on the Cancel button. To resume a canceled calculation, return to the Result Sets Explorer, open the Result Set and reschedule it for calculation.
To find out more about a calculation, click on the Details button in the last column of the table.
If the calculation has finished with warnings or errors, return to the Result Sets Explorer, right-click anywhere on the screen and select Refresh. After the hierarchy has been reloaded, right-click on the Run attached to the Result Set which you have just calculated and select Open Calculation Log. For more information, see Calculation logs.
