The Palantir Reporting screen
The Palantir Reporting screen is used to run reports on calculated Result Sets. For instructions on how to run reports, see the following sections:
The Palantir Reporting screen contains three tabs: Report Templates (described below), Report Options (see The Report Options tab) and Path Settings (see The Path Settings tab).
Option | Description |
---|---|
Select Comparison Result Set | Determines which Result Set will be used for comparison for incremental reporting. |
Select Report View | Allows you to change the way the hierarchy is displayed in the tree view. For information about how to set up views, see Manage report views. |
Select Result Type | Determines for which nodes the reports will be run. |
Select Calculation Parameter | This option is available only for reporting on consolidation nodes. It determines which Calculation Parameters document will be used for reporting when different Calculation Parameters are linked at different levels of the hierarchy. If you are reporting only on project nodes, Calculation Parameters linked to the hierarchy will be used. |
Selected Report Templates | Displays the list of templates that will be used for reporting. To add or remove templates from the list, click on Add or Remove. |
Use Incremental Reporting | Allows you to run a report to view the difference between Runs in different Result Sets. For information and examples of incremental reports, see Incremental economics and ringfencing. |
Selected Reporting Runs | Determines for which Runs the reports will be generated. If you have selected a comparison Result Set, here you can specify which Runs will be compared. |
Generate Sensitivity Run Report | Creates a report with data from multiple Runs in a single report. This option only works with templates specifically created for multiple Runs. |
Generate Reports for Multiple Runs | Creates a separate report for each selected Run. |
List of reports being generated | Displays the list of reports that will be generated. All columns are described in the table below. |
Open Reports | Opens all completed reports in Excel. |
Close Reports | Closes all opened reports. |
Goto Files | Opens the Windows Explorer where you can navigate to reports stored in the temporary folder. |
Run | Generates the reports. |
Close | Closes the reporting screen. |
Note: If the main and comparison Result Sets were calculated against different hierarchies, full paths are compared to determine if two projects are the same. Thus, if two projects have the same names but are under different consolidation nodes, they will be considered as two different projects.
If you have selected a comparison Result Set, projects will be displayed in different colors depending on whether they exist in the primary Result Set, in the comparison Result Set, or in both Sets. Projects that exist only in the primary Set are displayed in blue. Projects that exist only in the comparison Set are displayed in red. Projects that exist in both Sets are displayed in black.
If you right-click on a node, you can select a particular category of projects for reporting.
The table below describes all columns in the List of reports being generated table.
Column | Description |
---|---|
File Name | Name of the report. |
Status | Status of the report (Valid or Completed). |
Report Template | Name of the report template. |
Result Type | Type of the node for which the report will be generated. |
Info | Notifications and error messages. |
