Licensing

CASH supports two licensing modes: license server and license file. When you install CASH, your systems administrator will advise which mode you should use. Licenses are issued for applications and additional components. Licenses are set up and managed in the License Manager window; to open it, go to Help > License Manager. For information on how to use this window, see The License Manager window.

In License server mode you need to acquire a license from a specified server before you can use the application. When you close the application, your license will become available to other users in your company. If you no longer need a license, you can release that license to make it available to other users. For instructions on how to set up access to a license server, see Using a license server for the first time; instructions on how to release a license are given in Release a license.

Note: IPS Server version 16.5 Update 1 introduced authentication of the license server endpoint. CX applications cannot use authenticated connections. The IPS setting 'Enable Anonymous License Access' must be enabled to allow CX applications to connect without authentication.

License files are issued to users individually and contain licenses available to you personally. Once you have loaded a license file, you can use the application until the license expires. If you have been instructed to use a license file, see Load a license from a file.
