Historical and Forecast data
Setting the Import Type for data loading
A well document can be loaded with two types of data, Historical or Forecast. In the Load From File pane, or the Manage template pane, there is a drop-down Import Type where the type can be set. By default this is set to Historical Data.
Historical data
Historical data appears as points of data in well document charts.
Historical data is loaded with respect to the transformation rules as described in Volumes, rate and producing time.
Forecast data
In the file loader and the database template there is a drop-down labelled Import Type where the type can be set to Forecast Data.
Forecast data is loaded with the same rules as historical data, except that producing time is ignored and production is always treated as the maximum producing capability.
When loaded, forecast data will cause new data segments to be added, or will be used to replace existing segments. As a segment, forecast data will be displayed as a solid line on charts. To prevent any inaccurate representation of the original data, this line is drawn as a series of level sections (also known as a step function). The rate for each period is simply the volume divided by the number of days in the period, because producing time is ignored.
