Load data from Financials

This data loader is available in PlanningSpace version 16.4 Update 4, and later versions.

To import data from Financials:

  1. In the Load Data workspace, click the Add button Add button on the ribbon and select the Financials option. A new data source will be added and the Financials loading screen will be displayed.
  2. In the Start Year and Duration fields, specify the time frame for which the data will be loaded; if your documents span a longer period, the data outside of this time frame will be discarded.
  3. Connection is made automatically to Financials in the same tenant where you are running Portfolio.
  4. Importing from Financials requires a mapping template; this determines which Financials variables correspond to destination variables and settings. Create or select it in the Choose Mapping Template field. For information about templates, see Financials mapping template.
  5. Once the connection has been established, the Select Result Set Run will be populated with Financials data and all of the other fields will be activated after a result set run is selected.
  6. After selecting a Result Set Run, the Project Selection section will be populated with projects that exist in the selected result set run.
  7. In the Mutually Exclusive Group field, select a group from the drop-down.
  8. In the Currency Deck field, select a currency deck from the drop-down.
  9. Select a collection of projects from the hierarchy to load to Portfolio by checking the boxes next to their names. Right clicking a project or consolidation node gives you the option to select or deselect All descendent projects or All descendent projects and folders. Note that loading from consolidation nodes is not supported at this time.
  10. To check whether your data source has errors, click the Validate button The Validate button on the ribbon. If errors or warnings are found, a message will be displayed and the data source icon will change to Errors icon or Warnings icon respectively.
  11. Click the Load button The Load button on the ribbon. The progress will be shown in a pop-up dialog. You can cancel loading at any time by clicking the Cancel button in the dialog.
  12. If loading finished successfully, the Analyze workspace will be opened. If there were warnings or errors, click the View Log button View Log button on the ribbon to check the log file.
