Reports UI
One of the most obvious changes in Enersight 2.17 can be found in the Reports tab. The basic settings required to generate a report have stayed largely the same, but we've made a number of tweaks to the UI to streamline the experience. One big change is that there are three View Modes available via radio buttons at the top of the tab to allow you to somewhat customize which settings you see. The default view mode is Basic, which we've tailored based on user data to show only the most commonly used report settings. Collapsed view shows a summary of your settings to save screen real estate for the actual report and Advanced View shows all of the available report settings.
Another high impact change is the way refreshing a report works; it is now optional to have a report refresh automatically when a setting changes or when a different asset is selected. For reports that take a long time to generate, it's best to leave 'Auto Refresh' unchecked until you have finished changing settings.
Have you ever clicked the Reports tab and had to wait a few minutes for a previously selected huge report to load? Well no more! You can now cancel report generation on the fly. This works best for reports with Report Groups (which are typically the slowest), but also works to interrupt large non-grouped reports. Just click the 'Cancel Report Generation' button. Be aware that for reports that load quickly the Cancel button will not appear.
