Emission

The Emission pane in the facility General Tab (Facility) allows you to model the generation of emissions as a result of facility operation. Emissions in PetroVR are not regarded as part of the throughput, i.e. they are not substracted from the incoming production, and are not returned to the fluid streams.

  • Fluid: Enter emission fluids in separate rows. The available options are Oil, Gas, Water plus all components currently included in the
  • Fluid Components Catalog (even if they are not actually in the facility input).
  • Fixed Rate: Fixed emission rate during the facility lifecycle.
  • Variable Rate: Variable emission rate per unit of the fluid selected in the For every column. Emission is always calculated on the input fluids, not on the facility output.
Variable emission rate

In this case, note that the variable emission rate is calculated on the actual input.

Results and reports of CO2 emission are presented in weigth (or weigth rate) units, using a standard conversion factor of 1.977 g/l.
