Heater node
The Heater node allows you to define heating wells, aimed at modeling in situ technologies for heating hydrocarbons present in shale formations. Besides the typical information related to production wells (drilling, completion, performance etc.), you can describe the heater's efficiency and power consumption.
In Thermal projects, a pane Heat Injection Options is shown in the reservoir Injection Tab, with options similar to those of water and gas injection.
Heating Details Tab
The following inputs specific to heating must be provided:
- Heat Injection Efficiency: Ratio between power consumed and heat injected. This factor allows the calculation of the heater's actual power requirements if a given amount of heat is injected according to the pattern performance definition.
- Heated Length: Length of the section to be heated. This information can be recorded for documentation purposes only but will not be used in calculations.
Heater Installation Info Tab
The inputs in this tab are similar to those found in a normal Well Completion Info Tab.
Performance Tab (Heating Well)
Electricity Injection Type: Select a performance type. The performance types available are the same as those of a Injection Tab. The units used are electrical power (for rates) and energy (for cumulative injected heat).
